Compassion is Contagious was written by Mal Magorel and Helen White as part of a campaign created by the Laps for Life Fun Run committee, which supports families affected by Batten Disease.

This is a song that highlights the importance of being kind and compassionate to those in need. We are all unique and we all go through our own trials and tribulations throughout our lives. By being kind and compassionate to one another we can help support those who are suffering and make the world a better place.

The proceeds of this song will be donated to the Canadian Batten Association, to help families affected by a rare disease called Batten Disease. Your purchase of this song will help Canadian families who have children with this terminal disease.

Donations of additional money are gratefully accepted and very much appreciated. :)

Batten Disease is a rare neurological disorder that has varying types depending on what age it manifests itself. Generally, children grow up looking perfectly healthy and then start stumbling and have trouble forming their words. They have seizures, gradually go blind, become mentally impaired and lose the ability to walk and talk. Batten Disease is always fatal and there is no cure. Because Batten Disease is so rare there is NO funding from the Canadian government for treatment or research. Families caring for a child affected by Batten Disease rely on the Canadian Batten Association for emotional and financial support.
